Hi, I’m Jessica. Since successfully managing my type-1 diabetes and the debilitating foot pain it caused, I’ve become incredibly active, and you’ll often find me running down the streets of Seattle or hiking in one of the nearby trails. I write about health and fitness, and also work as a personal trainer on the side.
As a type-1 diabetic, I used to suffer constantly from achy feet, lower back pain, headaches, stiff and sore joints, even muscle pains on a regular basis. As a young man, and even through my early adulthood, I was plagued with constant soreness and the pins and needles of nerve damage that kept me sidelined from activities I loved.Pickup basketball after work? Forget it. Salsa dancing with my wife? The pain kept me off the dance floor.
I tried everything to manage my condition – podiatrists, muscle relaxers, pain relievers, massages – you name it. Nothing worked for me. I was so desperate for relief, that I was close to having a pretty serious surgery, which I was told had a 50-50 chance of working or making the problem much worse. Deep down inside – I was terrified and didn’t know what to do.
A few days prior to make the decision on the surgery, my good friend Kyle let me in on this little-known secret. He had just come back from a 3-month backpacking trip in Asia and filled me in on his adventures as we chatted over lunch. He explained that he was walking miles and miles each day while exploring, and that he too developed some bad muscle aches and tingling nerve pain in his feet.
While exploring some ancient remedies in one of the markets, a vendor showed him these odd socks similar to what they have been using for centuries in Asia.
Kyle wore them all around Asia and was amazed at the transformation he experienced. He felt like he had more energy, a clearer mind, and even better posture.
I Tested DocSocks Out Myself – Did They Live Up to the Hype?
What happened over the next 3 months improved my quality of life. I kept a daily journal, and wrote down some notes on my progression while wearing these socks:
Day 1
Feels a bit odd, but by the end of the day they were hardly noticeable.
Day 2
Noticed I got a great night sleep for the first time in a long time. I feel well-rested. Unsure if the socks are working?
Day 7
I have significantly more energy, a bounce in my step, and have been getting less headaches (still not sure if there is a correlation though). I’m getting used to wearing them. They feel much more comfortable now than the first day!
Day 14
I no longer feel the need for the daily Advil I was taking. The pain in my feet has subsided to just an occasional throb here and there, and I have been walking more. I’ve even noticed that I’m comfortable standing for longer periods of time.
Day 30
I’m standing taller and have next to no foot pain at all. I feel I have a clear mind, less headaches, and basically no muscle pain. My wife is amazed by the transformation she’s seen in me, and says I look like I’m back in my college days. We’ve gone back to dancing and having more date nights. No more staying at home due to my pain. I am a believer!
